Yellow Mountain Tea House

My globe-trotting fiend is visiting this week, and we decided a spot of tea and nibbles was in order for a good catching up.

We swaggered on down to one of my favorite places in town, Yellow Mountain Tea House. Upon entering you are immediately surprised with delight by how many different teas they have waiting for you to discover. We each picked our fancy from one of the many walls and brought it to the table for the talented hostess to prepare.

I plumbed for Milk Oolong and E choose Pomegranate White Chocolate.

The hostess came and performed a magic dance with all the cups, pouring water in each one, dumping it out onto her special board, and brewing the teas.

It's a mesmerizing show to watch!

When your cup is ready, you can add the most addictive sweet tea leaves.

It's hard not to munch through the whole bowl before the main course arrives.

Rice pearl meat balls.

Chicken dumplings.

These are exceptional, having a uniquely spiced flavor. I highly recommend!

Their family recipe summer rolls.

Xiao long bao.

Clearly a fan favorite!

To top it all off, chocolate and kidney bean steamed buns.

Once you're properly stuffed, browse around the shop. It's chalk-full of a diversity of traditional tea sets and teas. Many of the teas have special benefits based on the blend. If you're struggling with something in particular, you're likely to find a remedy within one of the jars.

Take a bag of loose leaf to go or grab a scoop of their gelato.

Whatever you choose, you can't go wrong. It's the perfect spot for a girls outing! You can find them in Old Colorado City if you fancy something new.
