Neveria Monarca

Looking for something tasty? We were, so we headed over to Neveria Monarca, a hole in the wall Mexican ice cream shop that is loaded with flavor, variety, and color!

Picking what we want is no easy task, as the options seem endless.

But from among all the ice cream, candies, snacks, and fruit bowls, we found what our hearts were yearning for.

Our favorite, the elote supreme!

A crisp corn on the cob covered in mayonnaise, cojita cheese, chili powder, lime, and crema!

A messy eat for sure, but absolutely worth it every time we stop by. Skip the cup and go for the stick. It makes a world of difference to the flavor!

Coctel de fruta. A cup chalk full of cucumber, watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple, mango, and jicama all dressed in chamoy (a tangy fruit sauce) and tajin (a salty chili and lime seasoning).

A great way to get your fruit in for the day!

Nieves de agua, a vegan fruit sorbet that is out-of-this-world creamy and delicious. We opted for our favorite, mango. On hot days we pick two up because it's sublime for cooling off!

And of course, the king of fruits, the mango entero.

So mind-blowingly soft, it's like eating a stick of butter at room temperature. It's also smothered in the spicy, sticky, and sweet chamoy and tajin combo that I love so much. This is for sure the best mango experience of my life!

We washed it all down with Jarritos, a naturally fruit flavored soda.

If you get two, you can share, or steal like me!

They were fresh out of pineapple and watermelon bowls when we went, but I definitely recommend stopping by for one. They're packed full of fruit like the cocktel de fruta, and decorated with salsaghetti, tamarindo straws and citrus. Stunning to look at, tastier to eat!
