For me, the end of summer slipped away before I could even say goodbye. With it, I changed my job, moved my home, and said farewell, in so many ways, to the life I grew up with. But, there's hardly a more perfect time for change than fall! Amidst the mound of chaos and boxes, we woke up one morning and decided upon a small venture into our new surroundings to enjoy the last bit of warm weather and the oncoming fall crispness.
I whipped up a breakfast, packed it away into our basket, and we galloped onward to the park.
I tried my best to fluff out our blanket...
But as per usual, it was a struggle.
Once I managed the hardest bit, however, I laid out our spread.
Buttermilk pancakes, Gordon Ramsay eggs, smoked sausage, berries and Greek yogurt,
and our new favorite, Vietnamese coffee.
It's strong-brewed coffee dripped over a base of condensed milk, which makes it perfectly creamy, sweet, and punchy!
After a relaxed breakfast, we took a stroll around the lake to work it all off.
