My husband and I have a common bond over our love Asian food! Sushi and ramen being our chief priorities. After being tucked away indoors from a nasty snowstorm, we set out to find a warming bowl and discovered a hidden gem!
One of the keys to eating out that I've discovered is that the best places are little hole-in-the-wall places. Sera's is no exception. Don't be shy to follow the "Eat" sign down the alley to the back. You'll find a charming little patio for when the weather's right. Otherwise, head in through the curtains to a cozy hideaway.
We started off with tea, the best Jasmine tea we've ever tasted.
Directly followed by mouth watering roasted duck boa buns.
And jaw dropping lettuce springs rolls surved like sushi.
This is no doubt the best spring roll I've ever tasted, and these two apps alone are well worth the trip!
After being left to consider if we should have just ordered triple of the appetizers, our much awaited ramen finally arrived....
JC got the TanTan-Men Ramen. A bold onion and meat flavored broth with a mild spice.
I opted for the Sesame Pork Belly Ramen myself. Full of spice, and soothingly smooth and creamy. Both the egg and pork cut like melted butter.
And as good as it all was, the pork belly was the star of the night. The flavor was strong and the texture oh-so-soft. It had the perfect ration of meat to fat. Utterly outstanding! My only complaint is that you only get two pieces with the ramen, so order an extra two!
We slurped (and he burped) away our bowls, plenty full and deeply satisfied.
We hunted down some chocolate and made it back home for a long nap, dreaming of the boa, rolls, and pork, oh my word, the pork!!! Our new favorite for sure.
